My name is Destiny Mya Foster; I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My single father raised me, I am grateful to have my father in my life, and he is an inspiration and blessing to my life. I have an older sister who’s in college as well. She is starting her graduate program. My mom lives in Texas with my little sister and me, and my older sister visits Texas occasionally to spend time with them. I’ve been to two different schools. I was at New Designs Charter School, sixth grade up to 12th-grade, but I left my 10th-grade year and went to Lakewood high school for the remainder of my high school year.

I work well in groups, and I am all about teamwork. My communication skills are excellent because I participated in the Loyola Law School Program during my 10th-grade year, which has helped me with my public speaking. I have done food drives and been a youth group volunteer at LA Grace of the Nazarene Church in Los Angeles, California. I have also been a teacher’s assistant, and I am familiar with making sure things are taken care of for the students.

Now that I am a senior in college, I have joined two clubs. I am in the PRSSA Long Beach club, which is beneficial for my last year because I can receive more insight into my major. I have also joined the CSULB Club Cheer, which is a great experience because I like doing cheers, showcasing Cal State Long Beach and their sports in a positive light.
